University of Juba’s College of Natural Resources and environmental studies offers outstanding natural resource undergraduate and graduate programs. It was a general belief that the best way to develop Southern Sudan was through the rational exploitation of its vast natural resources. Thus, it became one of the main motives for the opening of the College Natural Resources and Environmental Studies as the prime college in the newly established University of Juba.

Historically, University of Juba has been strong in the discipline of agriculture since its establishment in 1972. Enrollment in the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences exceeds 1,500.

With 9 South Sudan universities offering baccalaureate degrees in agriculture, University of Juba program are the first in number of student majors nationally . University of Juba’s graduates have a reputation for high performance and for contributions to their professions in agriculture, agribusiness, education, and human sciences.
